You know what I love? . . .
Looking at pictures of other people's birthday parties. {see here}
You know what I hate? . . .
How it makes me feel like I can't throw a good party to save my life.
Oh well, I guess if you have some people show up and lots of alcohol it's bound to be a good time- right?
Anyway we did our birthday thang last night- family style. I think it is more fun to celebrate birthday's with the girls than without. I mean don't get me wrong- grown up time is way fun, but something brings out the magic when kids are involved {specifically O&G, other peoples kids especially in a restaurant I could totally do without}.
Cheers to 40 years!
Happy Friday!

Throwing a party like the one you have linked is the most intense thing ever haha. Throwing Jackson's one year party was officially one of the most stressful thing ever! No lie, I'm already planning for his second birthday party....in March. :) hope Kelly enjoyed his birthday!
ReplyDeletelove low key fam bday celebrations too HOWEVER I get sucked in and I can't help myself. I have been "planning" the kids combo bday party for months (seriously their party is Sept 30) and I have a good handle on it - kind of :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya on the family thing. I think it's pretty awesome, but yea I'm bad about wanting to plan kids' parties!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Dad! I love party planning.. funny from the girl who rejected having a wedding and eloped just to avoid planning the party haha.
ReplyDeleteP.S New to the blog here and read your story and I love it! Funny how things work, huh??
I can't throw a party to save my life, either, but I stupidly am trying to plan one for my son's 1st! We'll see how this goes. Right now I'm just having nightly mental breakdowns! Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at other peoples party pics, I realize how insanely lazy/ not creative I really am :)
